On May 18 Don Kasarda mentioned the possibility of wheat contamination in
supplies of oats.

Here's a documented example of it for lentils and a Hall of Fame spot for
Will Pak Foods for responding to complaints by celiacs. They produce a line
of dried soups, chilis, etc. named Taste Adventure products. They were
favorably mentioned here a while ago.

Following complaints from celiacs about their Curry Lentil Soup they found
wheat in the sacks of lentils from their suppliers. (Wheat was grown in
adjacent fields.) Before cooking the lentils are washed and soaked so that
most of the wheat floats to the suface and gets skimmed off, but they now
tell you that some gluten may remain.

Most of the Taste Adventure products are gluten free and well worth trying.

Any lentil problems with other foods that might be due to this?
