I was so impressed by the cooperativeness of the staff of the Pediatric
Gastroenterology and Nutrition Laboratory at the University of Maryland in
helping me to get a blood sample to them and then even calling me with the
results (negative) as soon as they were available.
I wonder if Dr. Horvath, who is the clinical lab director there and who has
recently joined the list, or any other list member with expertise in this
area, would be willing to comment on the implications of testing positive or
negative on the Antigliadin (IgA & IgG) and endomysium antibody tests when
one has been on a gluten-rich diet for a long time (in my case, since
childhood)? I believe that I've heard that a positive blood test suggests a
96% possibility of having celiac disease. What about a negative test?
