Here's another 800 number for you health food fans who are already
updating your copies of JPLowell's great guide. Eden Foods 1-800-838-2326.
This is one where you leave a message and someone calls you back. I
learned that all of Eden's products with koji as an ingredient are
rice-based according to Eden rep Cindy Eicholtz. She wants all you food
chemists to know she's talking about aspergillus oryzae, a culture grown on
rice.
Ms. Eicholtz wants to warn the most cautious of celiacs that their brown
rice crackers, chips and Nori crackers are made in the same facility as
wheat crackers. I found Eden's representative most considerate of the
Celiac condition. She is sending me a copy of Eden's GF list and I will
check it against the marvelous Tri-County guide which, as I recall,
mentions some Eden products.
Happy Birthday to Listowners and Members,
Mary
