Hello,
Lars has offered to create a set of links, and various people are
responding. It's encouraging to see Gestalt people getting more involved
on the world wide web. For several years now there's been a healthy give
and take using email, but my impression is that only recently have Gestalt
therapists begun to enter into web publishing, create (or have created for
them) their own sites, and start experimenting with what can be done using
the web.

If you are one of those people, and like Lars you are creating a bunch of
links on your site, and others are doing the same and linking with you,
etc, etc, then two things are important. First, spread it around. Don't
just link to your good freind's site and ignore a lot of others. Surf the
web yourself enough to know what other Gestalt entities are out there, and
then pick a spectrum to which you will link. Once linked, then contact
those people and ask for reciprocity. That way the effect multiplies, sort
of like a chain letter, and the effectiveness grows for all of us. Second,
check your links regularly to make sure none of them are dead or broken.
The search engines routinely check the sites they list, and they drop those
that have broken links. Thus, two things are important: linking to a broad
range of other Gestalt sites and making sure your links are current.

There are various link checking programs available online. We created a
very simple checking device you can use; you can find it at
http://www.g-g.org/directory/webchek.html (but you will need the shockwave
plug-in for this). There is also a very nice program called "Dr. Watson"
available at http://watson.addy.com/, which does not need the shockwave
plug-in.

Anyway, thought this might be useful to some of you.

Phil
