Although slow to digest, raisins are popular with celiacs. However, if =
the raisins that you buy don't stick together, be sure to find out why. =
Some bulk or store-packaged raisins are "processed" with oat flour, =
others with oil, to prevent clumping. (The value of unsulphured raisins =
has already been mentioned on this list. See archives.)
If your store tells you that their bulk raisins come from a company =
called Health Best, I have recently (7/95) learned that Health Best's =
raisins are processed with sunflower oil, according to Gary at (619) =
752-5230. (In LA, Quinn's buys raisins from Health Best.)=20
Happy snacking,
