Dear Phil,
We don't communicate often, but I read you regularly and much appreciate
your wrestles with theory and how you ("With a little help from your
friends"!) have kept GstaltL alive over so many years.
So you are in a way part of my life and I am touched by the testing
situation you now find yourself in.
I will hold you in my thoughts and look forward to reports on your progress.
Warmly,
Deirdre

Betreff: Some know this...
We emphasize experience. We are an existential approach. Some know this
already, but I am engaged in a very existential experience. I am dealing
with three cancer processes: skin and prostate. I also have what is likely
to be a pre-cancerous tumor in my pancreas. Today I am traveling to the
hospital where I will have my prostate removed. Thus begins in earnest a new
phase of our lives. Linda is traveling with me.
I realized this morning that I don’t know how to pray about this. In the
Bible a man came to Jesus with a malady saying,”If you want you can heal
me.” Jesus told him that He wanted to do that. I believe He can heal me if
He wants, but I don’t know if that is what He wants, and I want what He
wants. So I yield.
Life comes in phases and it’s full of our stories. I’m reading this one to
see how it turns out.
Phil
