Hi,
I’m re-reading Gianni’s chapter on field theory in the 2nd edition of the Handbook. He speaks of the horizon which is known “in the encounter…,” but what encounter? To me this is the contacting that takes place in which M-P’s chiasm (X) is the contact boundary, and the action that occurs there transforms our experience of the ontical field into the lived body and contributes to our experience of the life world, all of which constitutes the phenomenal field. So, the phenomenal field is not simply the experience of an individual person, that person’s experience of being in the ontical field.

Phil
