Just came back from a two week vacation in Spain.Spent time in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao and a smallfishing village - Llastres - close to Gijon.
Almost every restaurant we went to was aware ofceliac disease, had main menus with GF selectionsclearly identified or a separate GF menu or simply toldus to order from the main menu and they would alter
the preparation to be GF. In addition in 2-3 restaurantswe had the best GF crusty baguette ever! One of therestaurants with the crusty baguette was actually inthe small fishing village - Llastres!
We also found a GF bakery - Celicioso ... as in deliciosofor celiacs - that had great and perfectly sinful cakes and
sweets. They are in Madrid, Barcelona and a third location... can't remember right now.
Bottom line: If you're in Spain, eating out is a breeze!
