Station ground isn't that critical, it's only for RF and I know many who
don't run one and despite what some will tell you, the ground on the radio
is not for lightning, if lightning gets that far, you already lost the radio
and other things including your life if you're sitting right there.
Lightning ground needs to be done outside, RF ground is nice but really only
needed with certain types of antennas and certain situations. I know many
myself included who run or have run serious power with no trouble with no RF
ground. As far as getting coax in, where are you in the building? first
floor, second floor? if first floor, any chance at going in to the basement
somehow and coming through the floor? Maybe take one of the windows you
mentioned leave it open or take it out and put a feed through panel there.
You couldn't use the window but it wouldn't pinch anything if you basically
replace the window with a peace of lexan or something with feed through
connectors on it. I have something like that done here and it works well as
long as it's sealed up well. In fact when the kids are older and don't need
24/7 supervision, I'm moving my station to the sun room, building an office
out there and that's the plan, remove a window and fill it in with lexan
with the UHF and N bulkhead connectors as needed. I have that done now in
the corner of the living room but didn't take the window completely out and
I can put it back as was without a anyone ever knowing if needed though I
own the place so it doesn't matter.
