Hi Alan:
I gotta question or 2 regarding Steppir operation. I'm doing some extensive
research and I'm liking the DB-18. Of course I'd be getting the standard
controler with no frills accept for lightening protection.
I run an FT-102 so no need for rig control. So I'm wondering, how do you
operate yours? How much vision do you have and could you operate the
steppir with out any assistive add ons such as either rig control or the
Ham Pod? I'm also not sure if the display on the SDA-100 is a backlit
screen to which I wouldn't be able to see at all but if its a fairly bright
red or green led, similar to those of clock radios, then I might be able to
see it. You might have to get a Ham buddy to look at yours. If I get really
close to my display on the 102, I can read the frequency. Perhaps, though,
if the DB-18 is gonna cost me about 5200CAN, whats another 4 or 500 for the
Hampod? LOL
Incidently how much and what is presented to the user of the Hampod and is
it voice or CW?
TNX and 73:
