Six meters finally opened to the northeast around 7:00 last night. I
think everybody in FN42 who had a 6 meter antenna was on the air. I
worked a dozen from that grid.
At about 9:30, I picked up a few from 7 land, one on SSB, the others on
CW. I heard one W6 on CW, but he was just above the noise, and faded
out before I could try to work him.
My best catch other than the DX grids from Mexico was EM64, which is
north of Birmingham, Alabama, and around 200 miles from my qth in EM42.
There were two other local grids on the air that I also missed because
we were all in hunt and pounce mode.
My final total was 53 contacts, and 27 grids.
