Thanks Steve, the 994 tuner is much cheaper than the 998 because
it's built to only handle 600 watts which is what I have. They
also have an interface cable for many of the Kenwood rigs. Jim

The 998 has the same thing. It's pretty clunky and I don't use
it
myself. It needs to be set in one of the menus.
I don't know if the 994 does it different, but in the 998, a
single beep
is for swr between 1.0 and 1.5, 2 beeps for 1.5 up to 2.0, 3
beeps for
2.0 up to 2.5, and 4 beeps from 2.5 through 3.0. Don't remember
what
happens above 3.0, maybe smoke and flames.

Lloyd, I tried to send this to the list, but I think it's only
coming to you. If you don't mind, could you forward it to the
list? Jim WA6EKS
Hi list, I have just heard about another tuner from MFJ, it's
the
MFJ-994B tuner which says it has some kind of audio feedback to
indicate SWR. Does anyone know about it tuner? 73, Jim WA6EKs
