Subject: Interesting Problem With N3FJP Logging Software
Hi, again, everyone.
As I configured the logging software for the Stew Perry 160-meter CW
contest, I noticed an interesting problem concerning the latitude and
longitude coordinates for my particular location.
Typically, I always list my latitude and longitude according to the figures
given on qrz.com. For my home QTH, they were listed as 43.69 lattitude,
and 85.49 longitude. When I checked these coordinates with Siri on my
iPhone, they were listed as 43.7 lattitude, and 85.48 longitude.
In the setup screen for the N3FJP logging software, my coordinates are 2
degrees off, both for latitude and longitude. I can't remember specifics,
but they are approximately 41 degrees latitude, and 83 degrees longitude.
I'm hoping that the QRZ.com coordinates are the most accurate, because those
are the ones I am listing. . But, I'm curious as to why this discrepancy
might exist.
Any thoughts????
