Well, John and everyone, if I told you everything it would take an awful lot of time so I'll try to keep it short, but I really do want to share it.

It all started a little over two years ago when my husband Gene had to go to the hospital because of breathing problems. He asked our neighbor across the street to look in on me from time to time and she did. She drove me home from the hospital the Saturday after he went in and she just casually mentioned something about going to church. I said I really needed to find a church and she invited me to go with her and her husband.

And from there it just kept getting better. I went to their church and liked it. I asked the pastor to suggest ways that I could sing the hymns, since many of them were unfamiliar to me and not long after that I met a wonderful lady who has a braille embosser that her blind granddaughter was using so now I get all the church bulletins in braille.

Then I heard the choir sing and knew I had to be in it and the dear lady wrote all the words to the choir songs, too.

Since then I've become more and more active in the church. The people are really God's people. From the beginning they accepted me just as I was and I can feel God's wonderful presence every time I go in the door.

Now, how's that for an example of God taking something bad and turning it into good? And by the way, Gene's problem wasn't serious, but it sure took a lot of tests to find that out.

There's a lot more to it, but that's pretty much what's been happening.

Oh, almost forgot. I was finally baptized about a year and a half ago on the most beautiful day the Lord ever made. The weather was perfect and so was everything else.

Well, I hope I didn't bore anyone too much. I'm not really a writer. <smile>

Love in Christ,

Deb
