Hah!
That's a bad subject line without even writing a word down here in this
field huh?
Well, the long and the short of it is, our bike which we have had all of 2
or 3 weeks is in a mangled mess in the back yard just now.
Terri's grandfather and I have been working to fix a problem we had with the
chain coming off on Terri's side and he could not figure out how to get the
chain back together once he took it off and shortened it.
We decided to take it to a bike shop in a near by town so that they could
fix it.
As we were on our way, the bike blew out of the back of the truck, bounced
twice and ended up on the side of the road in pieces.
The good thing is that no one was hurt and the bike did not hit any cars in
it's final trip.
One woman ran over a wheel which had come loose but it could easily of ended
up in a windshield and killed someone.
So we are blessed in how it did happen.
One of our mistakes, and we have talked them to death in the last hour or so
since this happened, was that we did not remove the top which consists of
canvis stretched over a metal frame.
Had we done that, all might have been ok.
As it was, we did not remove it and we tied it in to the back of the truck
we were carrying it in, but the wind caught the top and it worked as a
parashoot lifting it up and breaking the rope and that was it.
Luckally, we are not paying it out on time or anything, but it is a lot of
money directly down the drain and a lot of our hopes and dreams for our
mobility.
We will probably buy something else similar to the bike pretty quickly and
we are blessed in that we have that option.
The old man only had libility on his truck so it doesn't cover anything like
this but such is life and we will get over this and move forward.
The old man was trying to help us and was really upset that this happened
but what can you do?
Terri and the baby are off seeing santaclaws just now with Terri's mom so I
have time to sit and relax and take it all in.
It's bad but certainly not as bad as it could have been as I say.
I've kept you updated on our progress with the bike so I thought I'd share
the downfall as well.

Take Care,

Matt
