Hi Alan:

Have you decided on a remote station option?
I'm thinking the Kenwood TS-480SAT with the remote rig boxes might be the least expensive option or the remote hams service.
Apparently there's a smart phone client and now a hardware device called the ORB Control which sells for 175USD and you can connect a paddle, mic and it can also do digital via its built in soundcard.
The thing is though you still need a PC to change freq and band etc. Very excited about this as I might purchase this and put a remote station back up. I gotta TS-570DG as a backup rig that could be used.
