In day to day use, you don't really need the Hampod with the K3 if using a
PC-based logging program.
It is, however, invaluable for setting the config and menu features.

Subject: Icom IC-(IIICCCKKK) 7300
Hi all:
Just looked over a breaf discription and list of features of the up and
coming IC-7300 and its gross. LOL
Although its a little wider and longer than the FT-450, a little smaller
than the TS-570 series, its a complete touch screen and multi dial. LOL No
speech but covers 160/2m. With todays smart phone screen readers available,
I dunno why these manufacturers can employ this in their touch screen rigs.
I hope my Yaesu lasts for quite a while cause I'd really hate to plunk down
in access of 2K for this stuff. I dunno if I'd even buy the Yaesu FTDX1200.
I'd probably go all the way and buy an Elecraft and ham pod combo. LOL
