I think it is normal Tom, remember you are changing the frequency when going from LSB to USB because of the VFO offset in the way the frequency is inserted with the local oscillator.

Subject: TS590 question

Hello, all.

I am getting ready to do the Pennsylvania QSO Party contest, and have
noticed an interesting problem with my TS590.

It seems that whenever I switch modes, say from LSB to USB, or from SSB to
CW, the VGS1 announces my current operating frequency.

Typically, I remember this only happening if I press the enter key, in line
with the way I have the rig set up.

I don't think this is going to get in the way of my contest operating, but
am curious if this is normal behavior, or whether I have done something to
make this happen.

It's been a while since I've used my TS590 here at the Home QTH, so perhaps
I've got something mis-adjusted.
