There's no tax break for special phone systems for deaf callers.The
disabled-access credit is not available, the Tax Court saysin a case
involving a business that paid an annual fee to a companyso the
hearing-impaired could use a text telephone to access the firmIn the Court's
view, the amount paid is not eligible for the tax creditbecause the
subscription to the special phone service is not requiredto satisfy the law
on access by the disabled (Svoboda, TC Memo. 2006-1)
