This "Inquiring mind" is curious.

Is there a particular reason why the NOAA WX Radio channel group in
Kenwood radios is programmed in what appears to me to be a random order?

For instance, by default, 162.550 is in channel 1, and then it kind of
goes crazy with no apparent logical ordering sequence for the other 9 channels.

In my area, even during band openings, I have never heard a signal on
the 161.x and 163.x channels, which were the last ones added for that
service several years ago.
