go live in a cave, with no internet, telephone, mail or interaction with the
outside world, and you'll be safe from all those crazy people slavvering to
find you online...
The second you go online and create any sort of profile of any kind, or the
second you have a publically listed address or telephone number, people can
find you...they can also walk up to your house and knock on the door so what
difference does it make?
Again, if you don't want your name, address or potentially phone number,
online, don't go online, ever! and have your phone number unlisted and use a
post office box instead of your home address for all bills and mail
correspondance.
Now that you have indicated that you are on face book and about 6 other
social media sites, and given allot of personal info out over email, it's
easy to find you...do you really imagine that a ham radio callsign is going
to make your personal identity any harder to find than it already is?
seriously? lol

Beth,
I don't think that a government license will make a lot of
difference. in the ham databases it is your name, license class,
issue and expiration dates and little else. Nothing proprietary or,
honestly very intersting. you've outted yourself more with your
emails tonight than ever would be available through a callsign
lookup. So, chill out, get a callsign or not, and all will be what it is.
