Colin, I agree with you but it sounds like your panties are in a knot or you
would not jump on others for stating their thoughts. 73

If someone works hard their whole adult life, and then wants to put a
portion of their life earnings into something they love, IE ham radio, why
does there have to be a certain group of people who get jealous and whiny
and offensive just because the guy has the ability to have a little fun
after he retires?
He has no obligation to provide anything to anyone except himself...just
because you have a bit of money saved up, doesn't mean you have to share
that money with everyone, or somehow give anything back to community or the
hobby or whatever...that's just silly thinking born of jealousy and
bitterness I think.
I have fun with my few hundred dollar station, and I doubt it would be a
hundred times the fun if it was a 10 thousand dollar station...that's good
for me...and I certainly don't get my panties in a knot because someone else
wants to spend a couple million on their station. There will always be
someone with a bigger dick out there and that doesn't bother me.
When you start spouting about what other people have and what you don't
have, you quickly become marked as the fool you are by doing so...

Neil, I'll put the religion aside. Honestly I only answer to my wife. I can=
see both sides of this issue. Obviously it is his money and he can do what=
ever he pleases. On the other handthere is a spirit to this, and any other,=
*hobby* that people respect and look up to. If someone wants to build ther=
e palace of towers, amplifiers, coax, receivers, etc maybe they can find it=
in his heart to make it a living museum that can be opened to the public e=
specially those that are not yet in the hobby.=20

Alan, Thanks for the reply
BUT WHY?
I have been in this hobby for over 41 years and can appreciate that it is a=
technical expensive super station. However with my limited budget and most=
Amateur Radio ham budgets, we will never compete with this type of station=
.=20
This just makes trying to score big in a contest and or try getting DXCC wo=
rthless for most Amateurs. Stan is not an Amateur at this point. He brings =
distaste to the true Amateur spirit. Like others have said he can have spen=
t the money by starting a grant foundation to which thousands of children c=
ould receive an education in technology. If he did that the certificate for=
his efforts would be the best kind. It would come from his heart and our L=
ord Jesus!
If you agree with my comments just reply and say AMEN. It does not matter =
if your Lord is not Jesus, it's the point I am trying to get across to Stan=
!=20
Jesus is the person I answer to.
Thanks
