I am wondering what any of you have for programming software tht sort of 
works with speech.  I just got a uniden bcd996p2 scanner and it sure looks 
complicated.  A little pricy, but lots of digital trunking around here 
these days.  I tried the butel software but it doesn't look promising at 
all.  I did find an on line manual and I quote for example,
Press and hold to turn on Close Call Only in Any Mode except GPS.
Press
  then SQ to start Fire Tone-Out in Any Mode except GPS.
the press  something then sq doesn't tell me what tthe something is, must 
be a picture or something.

I was under the impression the scanner came with a cd, but this one did 
not, came with a print manual.
