Hi Scott!
I've only had experience with the local Baofeng copy. The Zarez HTs were the
first low cost HTs that I knew of. I have both a two meter and a 440
version. Accessibility is minimal, but they are quite usable as far as they
go. Things like direct frequency entry is possible from the keypad, but
failing to include DTMF obviously limiting in a day when we have more reason
than ever to dial up features. Obviously with everyone using smart phones,
there's no call for auto patch, but the plethora of Echolink, IRLP and
others still give us many possibilities.
