Hi all:
I know that Kenwood does the best with regards to accessibility but I think
that Yaesu and Elecraft has the market share when it comes to big DXers and
DXpeditions.
So I doubt that the component side is very poor, considering Collins based
filters and designs are employed. I'd hate to have to plunk down 5K plus on
an FTDX-5000 only to have it emplode in a year or 2.
I think I can make a pretty good point from the Yaesu and kenwood argument
as I've had an FT-450AT, now own an FT-102, owned a TS-940SAT and still
have my TS-570DG. I'm only upset with Yaesu due to its non caring attitude
to the blind and visually impaired ham and their attitude that if you want
1 of our products with speech, buy the 450 else get your XYL to set it up
and forget it. LOL
As for receive and audio, Yaesu has it right but I digress, there are Ford,
Dodge and GM fans and on a race Sunday, watch all 3 followers get into a
fist fight. LOL
