Hi Tom!

Just be aware if Flash pops up an update, the preferred install includes
both Google Chrome and the Google toolbar. Either can be avoided by
unchecking the relative check boxes during the update preparation process.
In either case, the default is to get that crap. That's where your increased
awareness will save you a lot of grief.

I just had to update flash last night, so the experience is still pretty
fresh. The update was successful and I avoided installing the optional junk
that causes trouble, so I'm a happy camper. I kinow some folks like it, but
to each his own, I say.

A year or two back, there was a rumour going around that Flash was on it's
way out. Too bad that rumour didn't prove true, or if it did, truth has been
delayed, hi hi.

73,
Dave

Interesting, Dave.

I do have Adobe Flash on the home computer. ... It is needed for some
work-related applications.

Come to think of it, though, Adobe flash is also installed on this work
laptop where I do not have the google tool bar problem.

Hi Tom,

I doubt Microsoft would install the Google toolbar as it is associated with
a competitor, but antivirus and antimalware programs might do it. I know
Adobe Flash tries to install it.
