Glen, you could build a cathode or plate modulator for that Knight
transmitter and operate lower power A M phone. It would be pretty difficult
to convert it over to a single sideband transmitter. Unless you just want
the challenge of doing it, the transmitter isn't worth what it would cost
you to buy the parts and build the modulator. In its day, that was a pretty
nice little transmitter for novices. I'm not certain, but it seems like it
ran an single 807 in the final.

Subject: voice over a CW rig

Hi,
I have an old Knight 50 watt rig that a friend gave me a long time ago.
It is made for CW, and has the 1/4 inch headphone-like jack on it for a CW
control.
I believe they were made in the '60s.
I am wondering if this unit can be converted to transmit voice.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Glenn
