Yes, thanks. I am thinking of purchasing a tutorial from that site. I listened to an introduction to the mac they did. It sounded good to me.

Subject: Mac Attack

One thing I have been doing is trying to learn the Mac. My old XP computer is giving me a lot of problems so when considering a new machine, Sandy finally talked me into getting a Mac. She had been using a Mac book Air, like a notebook type computer, for over a year, so I ended up buying a Mac Mini. I also purchased all the extra devices, such as a track pad that makes the Mac operate like an iPhone touch screen, a microphone, the least expensive 13 inch screen they sold for a monitor, a wireless mouse, and a DVD player and a 1 Terabyte backup drive. The Mac Mini I purchased had a 1 terabyte drive built in it and I had 8 gigs of ram installed. I did all this back during the first week of May last year. Recently I found

and other than being an official Apple consultant, this guy also records audio tutorials for Mac computers, the iPhone, and all other IOS devices such as the iPad and the like. These tutorials really are well done and I am learning bunches off of them. You buy one, or more audio files, and download them immediately to your computer. I copied them from my hard drive over to a small hand held Olympus digital recorder so I can play them anywhere. It has been quite the challenge for an old guy like me but it gives me something to do. Since a couple of my Windows programs cannot be used on a Mac, I had a friend help me install a virtual Windows drive that has Windows 7 so I can flip from using the Mac to using Windows on the same computer. This Mac also comes with voice recognition software so I can dictate email messages or anything else I need to type. It works amazingly well. Some of the external devices, like the monitor and the wireless mouse, I bought so when sighted people might be helping me, they can see the screen. This week, due to my loss of hearing, I dug around in the multiple choices of voices the Mac has available and found one called “Tom” which I am able to hear much better than the default voice of “Alex” which is also used on iPhone 6 phones. Anyhow, I thought this might be of interest to those thinking about a Mac and needing some help with other Apple devices through the website I mentioned.

Phil.
