Hello Sina.
Very interesting and creative!
Glad to have you on the list.
Thinking, experimenting, and listening are all valued and respected
attributes.
With your interests, the "soft rock" receivers might be very interesting to
play with.
Somebody on here was talking about accessible SDR software a while back.
Very creative with the switches.

Subject: Introduction From KM4KRR

Hi all,

I joined the list a few weeks back and have been enjoying the =
conversations and wonderful personality of everyone on here.

I got my license around 5 to 6 weeks ago. The call is KM4KRR and my name =
is Sina Bahram. I live in Cary, North Carolina.

About my gear and experience:

So far, I've explored channelized FM for the most part. I've got a = Kenwood
TK 762G and a Kenwood TK862G. a buddy programmed up repeaters on = both for
me, with simplex as well. I've also been playing with a baofang = uv5r, and
in addition to a slightly better antenna for it, I've = currently got it
hooked up to an antenna switch which feeds a diplexer = going to the two
kenwoods on A and the baofeng on B. there's just a = folded dipole in the
attic right now, but there's a comet gp3 right here = which I cannot wait to
try out. Then I can hopefully dedicate the folded = dipole to letting me
play with packet on 2m. I'm a bit of an audio geek, = so I have one of my
sends from the mixer routed to a box that my good = friend, Tadd (KA2DEW),
put together for me. the box lets me plug a music = keyboard's foot peddle
into it, and it has a quarter inch to feed from = the mixer and two
microphone cables coming out to feed the two kenwoods, = so I can put my
foot down when I wish to key up on either radio. There's = a switch on the
box for controlling which radio I want to speak to.

I would really love to start exploring hf as well, but I don't know = Morse
just yet so CW is out for me for now until I rectify that. I'm = also not
sure how I want to go about dipping my toe in the water for HF. = There are
so many options!

I'm excited about software defined radio, since that aligns super well =
with my development background, and I love the idea of combining my new =
passion for radio with my existing passion for code.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you fine folks better, and I = thank
you for the community and for having me on the list.

KM4KRR, clear

Take care,
Sina
