Hi,

I have a home made post driver made from a 3ft. piece of drill stim with a
thick cap welded to the top. I've driven a few ground rods and many a Tee
post with it.

Yes, do put the clamps on the rod before you hit the end of it with
anything.

I should have thought about the post driver. It can be muchier than a
hammer.

Down here in Mississippi, you can rent them from farm supply places if you
don't know anyone who has one.
