Thanks a bunch Tom.
I have been considering obtaining a VHF/UHF handheld.  I was considering the
Kenwood THF6A but am looking in the direction of a Baofeng.  Haven't decided
yet.  I just did some web searching and found the Baofeng BF-F8HP and didn't
know much about it.

Kent, its speech is exactly like the ov-5r.  Only difference is that the 8
does give you a verbal low battery warning a couple seconds before it shuts
down from a low battery.
