Tom, good luck with your DXCC. On another topic, I found out
that if you are using a battery if the battery was charged only
with a solar panel you get more points than if you are using a
battery that was charged from the power grid. I just heard that
a couple days ago so can't vouch for the voracity of that. Jim

Point values are uniform, irrespective of the classification of
the station
worked. They will vary by mode, though. For example, phone
contacts are
worth 1 point, while CW and digital are worth 2.
All you need for the contest exchange is your station
classification, and
ARRL section.

I'm not a contester but regarding the ratings mentioned below,
does it give
the person you contact more points if say you are operating home
emergency
rather then just plain home? And, how should I identify besides
