I have had a hex beam for about 2 years, it has been about 20 feet from
the ground on 2 sections of my tower mounted to the deck. The rest of
the tower will go up sometime this year. Then I will have the hex beam
up about 60 feet. As it is, I have made contacts in Alaska Japan,
Barang, which the last is about 5,000 miles away. It always has tuned
with the internal tuner in the Ts590, to a 1 to 1 swr. It is the 6 band
model 20, to 6 meters. I have no complaints. I have another antenna up
about 60 feet, a maltyband antenna from dx engineering and the hex beam
hears as well if not better and that is only at 20 feet.
I will write when the tower is up and let you know the differences.
