Hello all,
Here are the responses I received to my request for GF dining in San Juan, Puerto Rico, thank you to those who wrote me:
1. I was in P R about 5,years ago. I called ahead to my hotel and explained and they got GF foods in for me. It was a boutique hotel. I also are in high end restaurants where I concentrated on fresh shrimp and veg dishes. The chefs at that time were uninformed but very willing to work with me. I never became ill. But I never went into moderate or chain restaurants.
2. There's an Uno Pizzeria & Grill in San Juan, and they have a fantastic GF Menu. In fact, they also have three other locations in Puerto Rico, in addition to the one in San Juan. http://www.unos.com
3. I found this info through a search. It's been over 6 years since I've been to PR and it appears to have become gluten friendly. Wish I had more personal experience to offer :-) http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=gluten+free&find_loc=Old+San+Juan%2C+Puerto+Rico
