Hi All~~
I'm still getting a few stragglers' responses to my question: should a
friend of mine go back to eating gluten to determine if his liver problems
are caused by gluten or if he truly has a liver disease/medical issue? He
received an "inconclusive" dx years ago when tested for celiac.
Most people didn't think it was a good idea for me to give advice (and I
agree), but thought he should go to a qualified medical professional.
Finding a qualified medical professional in Kansas is difficult. However,
one person suggested that my friend undergo genetic testing for the celiac
markers. Brilliant! He's now looking into having the testing done by the
most competent lab he can find. That eliminates his need to travel long
distances to find a specialist and undergo a challenge. The only downside
is that he could be suffering from gluten sensitivity. He says he'll deal
with that if the DNA tests come back negative for celiac.
Thanks to everyone who replied. I understand my friend's need to know, so
I'm pleased a good solution was suggested.
Cheers~~Ayn in Kansas
