There are those who drink of the elecraft cool aid and will swear they 
are the best thing ever made.  I have no doubt they are good radios, but 
expensive.  Add up all of your options to have what you have with the 
2000 and it gets expensive very fast.  I have a 2000 and think it is 
agreat radio.
