Phil:

Can you tell me what the newest version of SKYPE is that you are using?

I really need to get up and running on Skype for both personal and
professional reasons.

It's going to be one of the things on my "to do" list this summer once the
college teaching year is over.

Subject: New skype

Steve and others,

Apparently my skype was no longer auto updating but I sure like the look and
feel and features of this newer skype. One thing I failed to mention when
telling everyone about my camera experience with my nephew overseas is about
the sound quality. My nephew has always been a little scratchy sounding and
the lag time has been uncomfortable to use. Last night, using my iPhone,
the quality of the audio was better than cell phone to cell phone and that
was with the cameras running. I've also always liked the echo feature to
test your microphone when using skype. My little 20 dollar radio shack
desktop microphone I've had for years and years was dead when I tested it.
I put in a couple of new tripple A batteries, ran the audio check echo on
skype and it worked fine. Then our dogs started barking and when the test
cut off and replayed itself, the dogs heard themselves barking and cranked
up even louder; thinking we had new dogs in the house. I've heard a lot of
ham rag chew round tables with skype video chat groups going as they talk on
the air so they can see each other, too. I knew a bunch of blind hams would
appreciate that bit of information and run right out to get a camera.

Phil.
