What I would do & have done is use a program called ERASER from heidi in Germany to
clean the hard drive & then install XPpro on a clean drive.It can make up to SEVEN
passes & strip everything off it. Good luck, Al Smith

Iam trying to unisntal vista and install XP on a toshiba laptop satellite
300. The problem I have is that whenever I try to boot with windows XP CD I
get an error : You system has been shut down to prevent your computer from
damage. This happens after XP loads the drivers and just before displaying
the installation option. I have tried to boot with partition managers like
Acronis but to no avail. Ant help?
