Hi David,

Back in the late 1980's when I became a ham, almost all the hand held radios
had a BNC connector to attach their antennas. In the late 1990's or perhaps
in the last decade the radios have mostly changed to the smaller SMA
connector.

Physically, I suspect they are a little weaker,. Other than that there is no
noticeable improvement that I have been able to detect.

Just my observations.

God bless,
REV. Mark (WZ0K)

Hi All:
I hear the terms "sma", and" bnc"used frequently(especially with regard to

HT's). Do these 3 letter designations actually stand for something, and if
so, what, and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each type?

Best regards,

David S. Pearson-wa4dsp
