Hi Don,

I use voice navigation for all fields and it works well.  As for band 
and mode, I think those are to be typed into edit boxes in AC 
Log.  N3FJP has a bunch of programs for the various contests, and 
those do use combo boxes.  You press a hot key (alt-m or alt-b) to 
drop down the band or mode list and then arrow down to the one you 
want before pressing enter.
