Jim,

I'm sorry I misread your message.   I'm getting goofy in my old age.  Of 
course you weren't talking about the Tune button, but the one to the 
left of it, the Send button.    I know that in CW mode it doesn't TX if 
a key  is plugged in  to the rear panel.   The RX is shut off, but no 
power  goes out.  If no key attached, it will TX  in CW mode with the 
send button.  May behave the same with a paddle attached, but I'm not 
sure.
