All sounds good Mike.  Thanks for sharing more info about Fred.
One thing about the Drake Twins, back when I had one, I just got 
someone to mark the bezel that fit under the tuning knob.  It had 
one mark on it originally, so I had a guy put marks every 5 KC's 
so that, along with the calibrator signal really allowed for 
pretty accurate tuning plus the tuning was very linear on those 
rigs with one revolution of the dial equaling 25 KHZ's.  Even so, 
I'll take the keypad entry on today's newer rigs.  73, Jim
