Michael, I agree with you on some of this.  I am lucky to work across the street from my wife and live within 15 minutes drive from my work.  I am very lucky and as stated earlier I thank god for that.  FYI, my rig is a icom 751A that was given to me by a friend of my dad.  I am totally aware of the reason I got my job was because of someone talking for me.  But it is me and the job that I do that keeps me here.  20 years so far.
