Butch, according to a ham friend of mine who came over to replace the RJ45
on the connector, when he looked at it he said, oh this is not RJ45, but a
regular RJ11 like on a regular telephone module plug. He didn't have that
connector with him, only the RJ45 so I tried a standard phone cord and
that's when I got no activity from the internal speaker. I also found one
of those really short six inch cords that you get with answering machines
and also has RJ11 connectors on it. That didn't work at all because it must
only have two wires working in it. I think if I can get a friend to come
over with his 480 control head and cable I can at least figure out if the
cable I have is the problem or if it's something else. 73, Jim WA6EKS.

I am not sure if it an rj 11, Kenwood used some 6 wire stuff on some of
their stuff, I don't know the connector number though. I don't know
what the 480 uses. I hate those little tabs, easily broken.
