Someone recently asked about Stevia. On the internet I found several pages
on Stevia, but here is some general info. It comes from the Stevia plant,
which is native to the Brazil/Paraguay border area. The Indians there have
been using it since Pre-Columbian days. Japan has approved it and it is very
popular there. (I have heard that Nutrasweet is not allowed in Japan, for
what that's worth)

Also, here in the U.S. it has been approved as a supplement, but not as a
sweetener.
