This sounds more like a problem with Explorer than your drive.
Whay happens if you try to explore a different CD? (Insert disk, open My
Computer, rt-clcik/Explore). 
Run a full virus/malware scan.

This drive was fine the day before.

Suddenly this morning ,the CD/DVD Creative DVD
oe-1 will only read Audio and DVD disks.
Data disks lock drive up, no menu comes up, and
are shown in My Computer as empty disks.
Audio disks play fine as well as DVD movies.The
data disks are read in another drive.
Any help is appreciated.
