The tests you mentioned might rule out celiac, but might not rule out gluten
intolerance of the opiate excess variety. That is done by a urine test that
looks for certain semi-digested fractions of gluten on a chromatogram. At
this point, that test is only available at research labs, but an elimination
diet of gluten might be worth a try--it's not that hard! Has she had
allergy testing?

PS. By the way, listmates, I've been gluten and casein free for twenty
months, and I still get the occasional mouth ulcer.
