Hi Ron,
I just ordered a USB SDR receiver. I've downloaded both HDSDR and
SDR-Radio software, but I'm just getting started. I was going to get
the HackRF, but its price was 15 times the USB unit that I bought and I
thought I'd try something lower cost to start with. I got the unit from
nooelec.com
I bought the unit called the mini 2 and Nooelec told me that sensitivity
between that unit and the hackRF was very close. The HackRF covers from
10MHZ to 6GIG. The Mini 2 covers from 25MHZ to 1.8gig.
I did also by the Ham IT up converter that extends listening down to 1 mhz.
