wwv broadcasts in AM, but you can hear it fine in cw or ssb
modes.
EST is now UTC minus 5 hours.
I use the "world clock" in my phone to check UTC...simply add
London england
to your world clock if you have an IPhone and that will be UTC or
zulu time.
When listening to WWV, the male voice is the fort collins
colorado
transmitter, and the female voice is the transmitter from Hawaii.
You can get a sense of propigation by listening to the loudness
of the male
and female voices.
This is the case, I believe on the 2.5MHZ, 5, 10, 15 and 20MHZ
WWV broadcast
frequencies...though I believe 20MHZ only has the fort collins
transmitter...just google WWV and you can get all the info you'd
ever want
on the current
set up.

Subject: WWV time standard mode?

Hi all:

Hope that this question isn't too "simple ",but what mode(CW,
Sidebands,
etc.) is the WWV time standard using on 15 MHz? Also, what is
the
difference between Eastern time, and UTC now that we've "fallen
back" 1
hour?

Sincerely,

David S. Pearson-wa4dsp
