yup, as soon as I saw the balun and coaxial choke on the radio works windom, 
I went berserk with the self vulcanizing rubber tape on both 
pieces...excellent antenna otherwise and all hardware is strong and 
durable...just the end caps on the choke and balun and where the coax 
connecter or eye bolts are mounted looked pretty suspect...but some good 
rubber tape will do wonders for years and years out in the elements.
BTW, I now get that self vulcanizing rubber tape at the dollar store for, 
yup, you guessed it, a dollar a roll.
